“Well, when the story be told, you can play judge n’ jury, if you like. But the way I sees it, there weren’t no sign of justice for Chili or any of the good folk in Jist West, not then and not now. We was livin’ in a place where there was injustice for all.”

Set in the fictional town of Jist West, This Side of Justice grows out of true stories told by five retired Marines who stayed friends long after their service. Now old men, they remember a place where justice was expected and deserved, and denied by a system that failed the good folk who needed it most.

The characters are old Marine buddies. The history is true.
