Rekindling the Love of Learning

American education needs reform, and it starts with engagement. Drawing on decades of teaching, from preschool to college, and on her experience building Chrysalis Experiential Academy in Roswell, Georgia, Arlene makes the case for experiential learning. She shows how it can work in homeschools, public schools, and private schools alike, and how previously unmotivated students can thrive when they learn by doing.

She writes from experience on both sides of the desk: she grew up in an experimental Los Angeles public school program that taught this way from kindergarten through high school.
